Aerospace Surface Finishing

Aerospace-2

Consistent, Repeatable & Controlled Processing

Vixen have been working globally with our customers and partners within the aerospace industry for well over 30 years. We provide wet blasting and surface treatment solutions, process development and consultation in to both original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and maintenance, repair and overall (MRO) facilities.

Wet blasting does have its roots firmly set within the aerospace industry, meaning many applications within the industry are already approved to be achieved using our wet blasting process, due to its inherent benefits and consistency. This is why it is often the process of choice, and partners well with the aerospace applications which require consistency, repeatability, control and traceability.

Benefits of wet blasting for the Aerospace industry

When processing critical components, you need to have a solution and process that you can rely on. This gives you the results needed consistently.

Wet blasting/vapor blasting benefits to the Aerospace industry include:

  • Wet blasting uses water as the carrier creating a and fully controllable and repeatable process.

  • Added control means a much wider range of media can be used for your processing requirements, which in the aerospace industry is often needed, and allows the process intensity to be controllable, scalable, and fully consistent.

  • No dust is created with our wet blasting process, meaning a safer and cleaner working environment in your facility and for your staff, especially when working with materials such as titanium, that can produce dangerous atmospheres.

  • No static or positive charge produced on components as part of the process.

  • Process control, monitoring, and full traceability with our automation solutions.

  • Cleans your components simultaneously to processing them alongside its primary function, such as deburring or surface preparation for example.

Wet Blasting applications for Aerospace

Our Wet blasting process and solutions are used across the aerospace industry in many areas for the common reason that the process is consistent, controllable and an environmentally friendly alternative to other finishing techniques.

Applications we have worked on and continue to work on range from deburring of parts, surface finishing to a requirement or without altering certain surface dynamics, to paint removal, washing & cleaning as part of NDT checks or composite preparation for bonding.

Wet blasting is used for many different applications within the aerospace industry. Some of the most common applications we work on with our aerospace customers and partners are here:

Process driven solutions for aerospace surface treatments

Our aim is to work with you and supply you the process and solution to meet your requirements. This can be done with our manual or automatic solutions.

We will work with you to understand your needs, and offer the best solutions available to meet your requirements. Whilst we do have standard machines in both manual and automatic configurations, we also have the ability to design and manufacture completely bespoke solutions for your exact requirements.

The next step on our journey is to setup some FREE sample processing trials to show you’re the results achievable on your parts. Contact us below to discuss your needs.

We also design and manufacture washing equipment which in many cases complements our wet blasting solutions.

In many applications we have implemented solutions that incorporate both blasting and washing in a one step process which can remove handling steps and  increase efficiency.
